Greenubuntu, an organization working for the cause of environment, organized a plantation drive at Paras Hospital, Patna, a few days back. Chief guest Dr. Ahmed Hai graced the occasion by planting Ashok trees in the vicinity.
This drive took place with the initiative of Greenubuntu co-founder and associate editor Ushi Fatma. The trees were funded by an individual Sunita who had lost her uncle to corona. In the memory of her lost uncle, Sunita has been planting Ashok trees every year. She is a regular contributor to Greenubuntu initiatives and is an active member of this organisation.
Volunteers from all across Patna as well as the larger state of Bihar were present on the occasion. The occasion was covered by several newspapers in the city.
Other distinguished guests present were: Anjuman Khatoon (second from the right in the photograph), ex-Vice Principal of Ayub Urdu Girls High School, Mehjabeen Khanam, Raabta committee member and professor, Rukhsana Wasi, Athar Ali, another greenubuntu member and a retired official from the excise department, Govt of India; and last but not the least Adil, a greenubuntu volunteer who is an engineer by profession.
