To begin with, it is a MasterChef, not Celebrity MasterChef… but why does it feel like I am watching Faisu ka Swayamvar? What is this innate obsession of filmmaker Farah Khan over Faisu, his good looks, and his marriage?
Since Day 1, it has seemed like Farah has already handed over the Celebrity MasterChef trophy to Faisu. She just can’t and won’t stop going ga-ga over him. Even when world-renowned chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna try to critique Faisu, Farah brushes it aside, saying, “But look, he is putting in efforts.”
Every episode just won’t end without Farah mentioning Faisu’s wedding at least once. With 25 episodes down, she must have mentioned his wedding 50 times. It’s as if she has taken it upon herself to ensure that Faisu is no longer single by the end of the show!
Farah Khan has playfully teased social media sensation Faisal Shaikh, aka Mr. Faisu, about his relationship status, leaving fans buzzing with speculation. It all began when Farah praised Faisal’s cooking skills, to which he jokingly responded, “Yeh show ke baad toh pakka shaadi ho jayegi meri” (I will definitely get married after this show). Seizing the moment, Farah quipped, “Main toh kara ke hi rahungi teri shaadi. Jannat ki sair karaungi tujhe” (I will make sure you get married. I’ll take you to Jannat). Her playful remark left Faisal blushing, while actress Dipika Kakar’s amused reaction further fueled rumors of a possible romance between Faisu and actress Jannat Zubair.
In the recent episode, Farah even went on to ask guest Chef Romy Gill if she has any girl in mind for, ‘sundar, susheel’ ladka Faisu.
Throughout the show, Farah has frequently poked fun at Faisu’s singlehood, often telling him she’ll convince him to tie the knot by the season’s end. During one food-tasting session, she even teased him for not having dates in real life, adding to the lighthearted banter.
While his cooking skills are undoubtedly impressive, can we, for once, see Farah not poke Faisu like those intrusive pados wali aunties who seem more eager for his wedding than his own parents?
