‘Family Man 3’ Actor Rohit Basfor Passes Away at 25 in Waterfall Accident
In a deeply saddening turn of events, Rohit Basfor—an emerging actor, who was shooting on the sets of the much-anticipated Family Man 3—has passed away at the age of 25. Basfor, originally from Assam, had returned to his hometown a few months ago and was spending time with family and friends.
According to reports, on Sunday, April 27, Rohit left home around 12:30 PM for a short outing with friends, informing his family of his plans. The group, consisting of nine colleagues, headed to a scenic spot near a waterfall in the Kamrup district of Guwahati. Around 2:00 PM, the seemingly ordinary picnic turned tragic when Rohit reportedly slipped and fell into the water under unclear circumstances.
His family was alerted to the incident only after a friend called to inform them of an accident. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to the nearest hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. Local police have stated that drowning appears to be the preliminary cause of death, though the final confirmation awaits a detailed post-mortem report. “The death was caused by drowning, and we will wait for the post-mortem report for further details for investigation,” a Kamrup district police official shared.
The news of Rohit’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the television and digital entertainment industry. Just weeks prior, the young actor had shared a heartfelt social media post about his excitement working on the set of Family Man 3. He spoke of the incredible learning experience and his enthusiasm for his budding acting journey. He had been sharing several behind-the-scenes moments from the upcoming season and one he also posed with Jaideep Ahlawat, who will be joining this season.
The Family Man, created by Raj & DK, is one of India’s most acclaimed streaming series, starring Manoj Bajpayee and others. The third season is currently in production, featuring Jaideep Ahlawat in a key role.
As fans mourn the loss of a young talent, the industry awaits further clarity on the circumstances of this tragic accident.
