The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism turned Ahmedabad’s EKA Arena into a glittering spectacle on October 11, celebrating the very best of Hindi cinema. Laapataa Ladies emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home the coveted Black Lady for Best Film along with 13 awards, while I Want To Talk bagged the Best Film (Critics’) honour.

In a rare and memorable moment, Abhishek Bachchan (I Want To Talk) and Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion) shared the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male), marking a high point of the evening. Alia Bhatt clinched Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her powerful performance in Jigra.

Kiran Rao won Best Director for Laapataa Ladies, while the Critics’ acting honours went to Rajkummar Rao (Srikanth) and Pratibha Ranta (Laapataa Ladies). In the supporting categories, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam — both from Laapataa Ladies — took home awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) and Female, respectively.

The music section saw Ram Sampath win Best Music Album, Prashant Pandey take Best Lyrics, and Arijit Singh (Sajni) and Madhubanti Bagchi (Aaj Ki Raat) win Best Playback Singer (Male and Female).

The ceremony honoured cinematic legends Zeenat Aman and Shyam Benegal with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Adding to the nostalgia, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recreated their timeless moments from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, leaving fans spellbound.

Among other highlights, Kill won six awards, and Madgaon Express and Article 370 directors Kunal Kemmu and Aditya Suhas Jambhale shared the Best Debut Director trophy. The milestone edition celebrated both cinematic brilliance and the enduring magic of Bollywood.
