Did you know that celebrities undergo expert training before whipping up MasterChef-level dishes? You might assume stars like Faisal Shaikh, Nikki Tamboli, Gaurav Khanna, Rajiv Adatia, and others are well-versed in culinary techniques. While they have traveled the world and tasted gourmet delicacies, many of them have little to no experience in the kitchen.
For some, terms like flambé, nitrogen, and croquembouche sound completely foreign. In fact, Tejasswi Prakash, Bigg Boss 15 winner, once admitted on the show, “My parents were like ‘you never step in the kitchen and here you are creating so many dishes.’” This highlights how unprepared some of these stars were before their Celebrity MasterChef journey.
Content creator and reality TV star Faisal Shaikh aka Faisu revealed the extent of their preparation. Carrying a thick book to the sets, he shared, “We need to mug up all these things and remember. Whatever dish we make, we need to write down all the ingredients. I took up studying after so many years. We need to write and then assemble all those things.”
Faisu also gave fans a sneak peek into how contestants undergo rigorous training before cooking. From plating techniques to using cake molds and selecting the right spices, they are given masterclasses to sharpen their skills. Even the basics, like the right water measurement for daal or the appropriate plating style, are taught in detail. “Bahut pressure hai. I don’t know what to do, but I am trying my best,” Faisu admitted.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Khanna has been experimenting with dishes, drawing inspiration from his travel experiences and improvising to create unique culinary delights.
The contestants also receive proper instructions before their cooking segments. From fixing their makeup to getting last-minute dish tips, they are prepped thoroughly. Behind the glamour of Celebrity MasterChef, there’s a lot of learning, practice, and, of course, pressure.
