Riding high on the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, actor Hirav Mehta is steadily gaining recognition for his impactful presence in the action-packed film. While he plays a BUF rebel in the latest installment, it was his appearance in the viral Flipperachi dance track from the first film that first caught audiences’ attention. Revisiting that memorable shoot, Hirav opened up about the electrifying atmosphere on set and his experience working with powerhouse performers like Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh.
Sharing his experience of working with Akshaye Khanna, Hirav said, “Akshaye Khanna carries an incredible aura.” He elaborated on how the seasoned actor brought a quiet intensity to the set, adding that he was someone who would warmly acknowledge everyone before seamlessly slipping into character. According to Hirav, Akshaye’s composed focus and his ability to instantly transform into his role left a lasting impression on the entire team.
Talking about the now-iconic Flipperachi sequence, Hirav revealed that its magic wasn’t overly choreographed but came together organically. He shared that the dancers were already performing inside the tent when the energy began to build. Ranveer Singh, known for his infectious enthusiasm, kept the momentum alive by encouraging everyone on set to give their best.
When it came to Akshaye Khanna’s moment in the track, Hirav recalled that his moves were completely spontaneous. The actor was fully immersed in the vibe, enjoying the music and effortlessly blending with the dancers. This natural approach translated beautifully on screen, as the rest of the cast instinctively synced with the rhythm while entering the frame, making the sequence feel raw and authentic.
Reflecting on the overwhelming response the scene received, Hirav admitted that none of them had anticipated it would become such a massive talking point. He expressed gratitude for being part of both the sequence and the film, sharing that watching audiences revisit and celebrate the moment has been incredibly fulfilling.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its impressive run at the global box office, reportedly crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide—further cementing its place as a blockbuster success.
