The moment that “Rishton ke bhi roop badalte hain…” played on screen, it felt like time had rewound. The first episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.0 is a carefully plated offering of sentiment, tradition, and modern chaos—just the way we left it, yet freshly brewed.
Smriti Irani’s Tulsi is once again performing aarti to the tulsi plant—a ritual soaked in reverence and memory. The walls of the Virani mansion whisper names we grew up hearing: Baa, Savita, Karan, Nandini. The spirit of Sudha Shivpuri’s Baa lingers, with characters pausing to remember her with moist eyes, making even viewers tear up.
The show cleverly blends the past with the present. Newcomers Angad (Rohit Suchanti), Pari (Shagun Sharma), and Hrithik (Aman Gandhi) represent Gen Z, but they’re rooted in the same web of expectations and legacy. The family WhatsApp group, the Instagram reels, the after-party gossip—everything is present-day, yet filtered through the lens of age-old Virani values.
Gayatri’s (Kamalika Guha Thakurta) age-old discontent toward Tulsi’s influence hasn’t faded. She’s still scheming, still bitter, trying to manipulate Hemant (Shakti Anand), only to realise that some loyalties—especially toward Tulsi—are unshakable.
The chemistry between Tulsi and Mihir is undisturbed by time. Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani deliver subtle glances, soft silences, and layered dialogues that pull at your memory.
This reboot isn’t desperate to relive its glory—it respectfully nods to it and moves forward. For longtime fans, it’s like visiting your childhood home and finding your favourite corner untouched.
