The courtroom comedy-drama Maamla Legal Hai is gearing up for its much-awaited second season, and fans can expect more humour, chaos and relatable courtroom moments when it returns on Netflix. One of the biggest highlights of the show has been the charismatic performance of actor and politician Ravi Kishan as the witty and unpredictable Advocate VD Tyagi. As the team launched the trailer for the upcoming season, the actor made an amusing and candid confession about a quirky habit he has while performing — forgetting his lines.
Despite his commanding screen presence and decades of acting experience across film and television, Ravi revealed that his mind often races with multiple words and expressions while he is delivering dialogues. Speaking openly about the phenomenon, he explained that his love for language and vocabulary often leads to an overload of thoughts in the moment.
Ravi Kishan is all set to return as Advocate VD Tyagi in the second season of Maamla Legal Hai on Netflix. At the trailer launch of the series, veteran actor and politician Ravi Kishan, made a candid revelation.
Known for his commanding screen presence, he has a habit of forgetting lines, and it’s not because he is forgetful. He shared, “When I am saying one line and I come across a word, 10 synonyms come to my head. I’m getting 15 more words as I speak. So, the more words I speak, the more words I get. So, I’m blessed by the knowledge of words, language. When I’m speaking, I say something else.” Like when I act, there are 100-200 people inside and they start coming out. There’s a buzzing sound inside my head, while performing. While acting, I go completely crazy.”
Actor Anant Joshi, seen in the role of Patparganj District Court Manager Vishwas Pandey, spoke about Ravi in addition to his forgetting lines, “Most importantly, he keeps confusing names, especially with Mintu, played by Anjum Batra. Sometimes he calls him Montu, Monty.”
Ravi further added, “I have to remember so many names. People from the Parliament, actors in films, TV, OTT, then people who I meet in my day-to-day life. So my head is always buzzing…”
About season 2 of the much popular show, Ravi said, “Lovely actors, a big round of applause for them and we are bringing the second season. You guys have blessed the first season a lot. In 192 countries it was trending for 16 weeks. 11 weeks in overseas. It is such a big blessing, which we never thought that it would be so big when we started. The world of lawyers in Patparganj, we didn’t realise it would be so big. People have connected with their lives, the humour, the emotion. What is the life of a lawyer? Often we just video them through cinema. We used to think that lawyers will come and wear black coats. Their life, their struggles, getting a chair and getting a table in civil court is a big struggle. And this is a very big world. And lawyers are in everyone’s life. Now we are bringing it to a vast world, a big world. But same humour, same emotion, same family. My position in the show has grown a little, I have become a judge. More classy, more rustic. And grounded. So this is amazing.”
The show premieres on April 3 and features Nidhi Bisht, Kusha Kapila, Naila Grrewal and many others.
