The Virani family is back, and with it, the timeless magic of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The much-loved television drama has officially begun shooting its second season, and the first glimpses of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay have reignited fan excitement across generations.
In a stunning maroon saree with traditional jewellery, Smriti’s look as Tulsi has been revealed—instantly evoking the familiar warmth and strength of the iconic character. Reflecting on the show’s journey, Smriti said, “It was a story of families, faith, and the fabric that binds us… It still lives in our hearts, 25 years later.”
The show, which was slightly delayed, began shooting on July 4. On the same day, Amar Upadhyay, who plays Mihir, was seen filming scenes on set. Speaking to photographers, he said with a smile, “Mazaa aagaya… first day, first scene, aur puraani yaadein taaza ho gayi.”
What makes this return even more special is Smriti Irani’s comeback to acting after her successful stint in politics. The iconic jodi of Tulsi and Mihir once ruled Indian television, and their on-screen reunion after 25 years feels nothing short of historic.
The new season promises to blend the essence of the original while adapting to modern sensibilities. As families gather once again around the television to watch Tulsi handle household drama, relationships, and family values, Kyunki hopes to reignite the kind of mass following it once enjoyed.
For longtime fans and new viewers alike, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 is more than just a sequel—it’s a return to timeless storytelling, rooted in emotion, tradition, and powerful characters that have stayed in our hearts for decades.
