Actress Saloni Kumar, who was recently seen in the youth-centric show Tu Juliet Jatt Di produced by Dreamiyata Entertainment, has opened up about her experience working on the project, her character, and what made the show stand out in today’s television landscape.
Speaking about her association with the show, Saloni shared that this marked her first project with Dreamiyata Entertainment. “For Dreamiyata, it was my first time with TJJD,” she said, expressing gratitude for being part of the series.
Recalling what drew her to the script, she added, “It was fun, college life, and overall it felt very cool.” The actress highlighted how the youthful vibe of the narrative instantly connected with her.
Saloni also revealed that she found a personal connection with her character, Kim. “Yes, a little bit, because I am myself a Chandigarh University student and I enjoyed my college days. I just felt like I was back to college while doing TJJD,” she said, underlining the relatability factor that helped her performance.
On the show’s portrayal of Punjabi culture, the actress kept it simple yet appreciative. “It’s good,” she said, acknowledging the refreshing cultural representation in the series.
Talking about her preparation process, Saloni mentioned that she did her bit to understand the role better. “Yes, I did a little homework about the character at home,” she shared.
She believes the show distinguishes itself from typical television dramas due to its setting and theme. “I think it was a college love story which made it stand out and interesting, because mostly TV dramas are all about family and this was different from the rest,” she explained.
Giving a glimpse into her character, Saloni said viewers can expect layers. “Kim can be a little fun-going and blunt, but she’s very soft-hearted,” she noted, hinting at surprising elements as the story progresses.
On working with her co-stars, the actress described the experience as smooth and positive. “It was all good,” she said.
Concluding on a hopeful note, Saloni expressed her gratitude and aspirations. “Thank you so much for making me a part of the show. I hope we all work again very soon with much more screen space,” she signed off.
