Star Power and Bump Chic: Shah Rukh Khan nails superfine tailored look like royalty; mom-to-be Kiara Advani glows at Met Gala 2025
Monday night was fashion’s most glamorous celebration as the Met Gala 2025 lit up New York City with couture, culture, and charisma. Among the many showstoppers, it was the dazzling debut of mom-to-be Kiara Advani and Bollywood’s king Shah Rukh Khan that truly turned heads.
Kiara Advani embraced her first Met Gala with unapologetic grace, flaunting her baby bump in a custom Bravehearts by Gaurav Gupta creation. Inspired by Black dandyism and motherhood, the sculptural look featured a heart-shaped breastplate and dramatic cape—paying tribute to fashion icon André Leon Talley. The ensemble celebrated identity, legacy, and strength, making her presence both powerful and poignant.
Shah Rukh Khan, making his long-anticipated debut, exuded royal swagger in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee all-black ensemble. His floor-length trench coat layered over an unbuttoned shirt set the tone for edgy elegance. From chunky choker chains to sparkling diamond pendants bearing “K” and “SRK,” his accessories screamed charisma. A tiger-topped walking stick and his signature outstretched-arm pose sealed the look—fit for a fashion monarch.
Adding to the South Asian representation, Diljit Dosanjh also debuted at the Met Gala, becoming the first Punjabi artist to grace the blue carpet. Dressed in a regal Maharaja-inspired outfit, he proudly honored his roots, sharing, “I bring my turban, my culture & my mother tongue ‘Punjabi’ to the Met Gala.”
This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrated the influence of Black dandyism, elegance, and masculine expression. Inspired by the Costume Institute’s exhibit on the Black dandy, the night paid homage to refined rebellion and tailored storytelling.
Together, these icons brought tradition, identity, and star power—redefining fashion on the world’s most prestigious carpet.
