For over 17 years, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, created by Rajan Shahi, has remained a constant in viewers’ lives—evolving with time while staying deeply rooted in Indian traditions and family values. From generational transitions to contemporary relationship dynamics, the show continues to strike an emotional chord. Leading the current chapter are Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit, who portray Abhira and Armaan—fondly called ‘Abhimaan’ by fans. As their on-screen bond continues to win hearts, the duo recently revisited the memory of their very first shoot together in 2024.
Their initial meeting took place during a special photoshoot that doubled up as a musical video, shot just days after Rohit joined the show as the new Armaan. Coordinated in soft hues—Samridhii in a yellow dress and Rohit in a white-and-yellow ensemble—the shoot marked the beginning of their on-screen journey.
Taking a nostalgic trip, Samridhii shared, “The time we did this photoshoot was just a couple of days after Rohit had entered as the new Armaan, and everything was fairly new. We were cordial with each other but not used to working around each other. But of course as our characters had progressed, we had to establish that bond from the first scene we met.”
She also appreciated Rohit’s seamless transition into the character, adding, “He weaved into the character of Armaan so smoothly. I remember even telling him that he is very apt for the character of Armaan. And then we had shot this musical video, and the photos were also pretty amazing.”
Rohit, on the other hand, recalled feeling instantly at ease despite being new to both the show and his co-star. “I remember this photoshoot so well, as I had just joined the show. After shooting the Holi sequence, we shot the song, and the pictures were clicked. I was very new in the show, and with Samridhii too, I had not shot much.”
He further added, “Right from the first song, I was very comfortable with her. She is talented and professional, so there was no awkwardness. It was a big change for her, but for me it was a new show, and I got comfortable with the cast and Abhira. It was a fun shoot. People loved the pics, and from their people, they liked us.”
What started as a simple introductory shoot soon turned into a memorable milestone—not just for the actors, but for fans as well. It marked the moment viewers began embracing Rohit as the new Armaan, strengthening their love for ‘Abhimaan’ even further.
